"Motherhood is the exquisite inconvenience of being another person's everything" - unknown

I’m Georgie - an NHS midwife and certified infant massage instructor.
About me
After initially completing my degree in Psychology, I decided to re-train as a midwife in 2017. I’ve now worked within the NHS for nearly 10 years. I became a certified infant massage instructor in 2025 with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM).
Throughout my career, I’ve worked across three large teaching hospitals in London and Brighton, as well as in community settings, caring for a diverse caseload of pregnant, birthing and postnatal people. I’ve seen first-hand the difference slowing down and having a space to feel truly supported can make.
Over the years, I’ve developed a wealth of knowledge and experience in this field. I’m keen to share that knowledge in a way that feels accessible, reassuring and totally free from judgement. I believe in a purely evidence-based approach, striving to stay up-to-date with the latest research.
Becoming a parent myself has given me an even greater appreciation of just how enormous the transition into parenthood can be. There is so much focus on preparing for birth, and yet so little for what comes next.
Through infant massage (and a few other things that are currently in the pipeline for later) I want to create a welcoming space where you can not only connect with your baby, but also ask questions, share your thoughts and feelings, and feel supported as you find your way through the first year, and beyond.
About Held with Georgie
After having my son, someone described the postnatal experience to me as “postnatal discombobulation” — and I couldn’t have put it better myself!
Becoming a parent is an incredibly joyful experience, but it also brings a mammoth shift. Your whole world changes, and alongside the love and excitement comes huge adjustment, uncertainty and, often, loneliness. There is so much to navigate, yet we live in a society where the traditional “village” can feel out of reach, leaving many of us feeling isolated when we need support the most.
I’ve seen first-hand how postnatal care has become increasingly stretched, leaving families with less support in such a critical time.
I created Held with Georgie to help.
Infant massage offers so much more than the massage itself. It gives you the opportunity to slow down and connect with your baby through nurturing touch, while creating space to meet other parents. My hope is that you leave feeling more confident, connected, and held from being in a space where we can untangle some of that postnatal discombobulation together.
